July 18

Set out in the morning of the 18th to visit my first-cousin-once-removed, Mair Livingstone in north London. I took the tube to Hampstead, then hiked over the Heath to Golders Green. This is The Top of the Heath, the highest point in Greater London.

At the top is a shallow pond that was made for coach horses to cool off after the long climb from town.
