So.

Arrived Gatwick, 18:00GDT, August 8, 2005 after having woken up and had
a Vancouver-time breakfast on the plane. Decided to proceed on my PST clock
rather than try to find a sleepover near the airport. An evening ride then!

Unpacked and assembled bike and trailer at the Arrivals Bus Station under the eyes of thirty or forty waiting bus passengers. Planted my maple leaf flag onto the trailer and, with the sound of sixty or eighty clapping hands, headed off to London. And yes, I was riding on the left side of the road.

Right, then!
Cue the cycling music!

The road out of the airport got busier as I passed the Arrivals Taxi Stand and the South Terminal Access Road; faster as I passed the International Air Freight Depot entrance and the Long Term Parking building; wider as the roads out of the Air Catering Facility, the Fueling Depot and the Administrative Services Centre were funnelled on.
