Next morning Julie and I set off, à vélo, on a tour of town and then some help and advice about my day's journey down to Saintes.
This picture is me puffing up the hill past the église St. Hilaire, one of three romanesque churches in town.
My route, recommended by my hosts, kept close to the litlle river Boutonne, and stayed off the highway.
