bwilsonduncan encounters two francais à cervelle droite [right-brain frenchmen]

Just a few km up the road from here I encountered a middle-aged couple standing beside their car at the roadside looking, all bewildered, at a highway direction sign.
"Vous êtes d'ici,monsieur?" [Are you from around here, mister?]

Turns out they were lost. They had been travelling hundreds of km from near Paris to Moissac ( still 90km away) and didn't use maps. They just look at roadsigns and if they run out of signs saying "Moissac" they are lost.

I got out my map and gave them directions. In the form "Go 2 km til you get to a ... take the second right... turn when you see a... you can't miss it... blah,blah, blah"

All in point&grunt french.
